Vitilox Cream vs UVB

Vitilox UVB Lamp Professional

Over the last few years we have received numerous questions relating to the use of the Vitilox Cream vs UVB. Should Vitilox Pigmentation Cream be used alone, or in conjunction with the UVB Lamps.

Because we are all different, results from either the Pigmentation Cream or UVB treatment do depend on various factors. These include your age, body coverage and also the length of time that you have had the condition.

Vitilox Cream vs UVB

Vitilox Pigmentation Cream

On average the Vitilox Cream has proved to be effective in the majority of cases without the UVB lamp being used. The formula used in Vitilox Pigmentation Cream stimulates the Melanocytes into producing Melanin (pigmentation) beneath the skin.

A number of our patients were going to Phototherapy while using Vitilox Pigmentation Cream. The Vitilox Cream used in conjunction with Phototherapy (UVB) is known to produce quick and substantial results.

UVB Phototherapy Treatment has successfully been used in the treatment of Vitiligo for many years. However it is costly and impractical for the patient to visit the clinic once or twice a week for treatment.

Vitiligo Treatment then introduced our own UVB Home Lamp and offered this product as an alternative for patients to treat areas of their body that had Vitiligo in the privacy of their own home.

This treatment basically includes the use of the Vitilox Pigmentation Cream with the UVB Lamp Professional.

Although using these two products  together has proved to speed up the pigmentation process, patients can obtain results by just using Vitilox Pigmentation Cream.

Please complete our free online assessment on the website. If our consultants believe that the extent of your Vitiligo coverage is aggressive then they may recommend using the UVB Lamp.

Historically, the Vitilox Pigmentation Cream used without any external light source works well. It may take longer to achieve full pigmentation, but is affordable, and once pigmentation has returned, it is permanent.

The sun and Vitiligo

The sun is also a good source of UV.  You can look at spending time in the sun while using the Vitilox Pigmentation Cream. Many of our customers apply Vitilox cream before exposing the affected areas of their body to sunlight. Ideally exposure should be for about 10 minutes. This has proved very effective in speeding up the pigmentation results.
